JANGDOH PALRI

Situated in the lap of innocence and purity, Zangdok Palri, the glorious copper coloured mountain, is the pure land of Guru Ringpoche, the second Buddha. Nestled amidst a serene hillock overlooking the panoramic Dutongkhar valley, at a distance of 35 Kms from Lungla town, this majestic ‘Lotus like Palace’ is a must visit site. It was consecrated by his Eminence Padmashree, the 14th Thegtse Rinpoche on 13th November 2019. The Gonpa is dedicated to Guru Padmasambhava (Born from a Lotus) also known as Lopon ringpoche or just Guru Ringpoche which means precious Guru. He was a tantric Buddhist and a Vajra master from India who taught Vajrayana in Tibet. Zangdok Plari is a highly symbolic and intricately detailed Mandala, representing the enlightened qualities of Guru Padmasambhava., who is embodiment of compassion towards all sentient beings. Zangdok Palri is a sacred space having three levels: In the topmost level of Dharmakaya, the Buddha Amitayu resides, the four-armed Avalokiteshwara resides on the middle level of Samboghkaya and the Guru Ringpoche resides in the lowest level of Nirmanakaya. The whole architecture is a site to behold with various Buddhists signs engraved on the walls and is painted with the most beautiful shade of maroon and white. It is also an example of excellent craftmanship, and is meticulously and beautifully designed. As it is the focal point of Guru Ringpoche’s realization, it is of great benefit for the peace and happiness of the region, global peace and harmony.
