JAMPA LHAKANG
Dedicated to Gyelwa Jampa, the future buddha, Jampa Lhakhang, is a spectacular marvel on earth. It is located on top of a mountain at Bletteng in Dutongkhar circle of Lungla Sub-division. One can also see Bhutanese dwellings on other side of the mountain from here. Jampa Lhakhang is an ongoing project which was started on 8th October 2017 and is expected to be completed by December 2023. One can feel the massive positive energy when visiting this Gonpa. The statue of the future buddha stands at a herculean height of 88 feet and houses a prayer hall underneath. When combined together, the whole Gonpa is at 113 feet height. The statue of Gyelwa Jampa is made of copper with an iron frame. The face of the statue will be made of pure gold and the rest of the body will be painted using the most brilliant colours. The inner sanctum will house one statue of Buddha Sakyamuni and on its either side, eighteen small compartments have been constructed. One compartment will house one statue of Lama Tsongkhapa and rest of the compartments will house seventeen statues of Nalanda pandits. Moreover, the third floor of the Gonpa will house one thousand statues of Gyelwa Jampa. Once completed, Jampa Lhakhang will be one of the most wondrous monuments on this earth and will pave a way for humans to attain merit and confess sins.
