GURU PADMASAMBHAVA

This huge Statue is built over a spur overlooking the Muchut village on the right and the Pangchen valley on the left. It was strategically built over the Thong Bra or the view_which provides a bird eye view of the whole Jemeithang and its villages and hamlets. It is built in such a way that the face of the statue is facing toward China, so that the place is protected from further or aggression from the northern borders. It was the place of meditation, and many abbots from Tibet had visited it long ago. Here medicines were made as also Wang (blessing Ceremonies), fortune telling, and astrology sessions were conducted in the yonder days.
